propylene glycol
Propylene glycol causes Heinz bodies (oxidative damage) in cats' red blood cells and can lead to anemia with long-term intake. The US FDA prohibits it in cat food (21 CFR 589.1001), but it is still legally used in some dog foods and treats — don't feed dog treats to cats.
