tricalcium phosphate
Tricalcium phosphate is used to add calcium and prevent caking. It is a low-solubility calcium phosphate, so its phosphorus is absorbed more slowly than from sodium or potassium phosphates. Typical levels are legal for healthy pets; for cats and dogs with chronic kidney disease (CKD) it still counts toward total phosphorus, so low-phosphorus diets are recommended.
